The Best First Aid Kit for a Bug Out Bag in 2022
It is our opinion here at Rugged Man that one should custom make their first aid kits.
A solid first aid kit should be one that is built up by the user to the user’s design, and based on the user’s needs.
However, starting with a really solid pre-made base kit, then morphing and manipulating that kit, is a great way to come out with a plan and method that will last you for years to come.
However, one should never use a cheapo kit as your base. Build with quality in mind, even if you have to build slowly.
I personally really enjoy building survival kits of ALL kinds, from the bottom to the top. However, today we’re going to focus a little less on building a first aid kit and more on the pre-fab side of things.
If you’re the type who does not enjoy spending time building out your preparedness lifestyle, then this article is for you and it is more important than ever for you to choose a high quality first aid kit!
One company in particular that I have been impressed with recently is My Medic. Their kits are absolutely rock solid!! They have a wide array of specialized kits to choose from and all of their kits are made right here in the USA and from high grade material!
This company is working from the heart. I say this because their story starts with the loss of a loved one. This tragic story, as with a lot of life’s start-ups, begins with tragedy and a hard lesson a family had to learn to place preparedness in first aid as a top priority.
Driven by this, My Medic has gone on to build a fine strong business, backed with honor and integrity.
Here is a link to their story.
What Is the Best Survival First Aid Kit?
Well, “it depends”. First, you want to take a look at your life and decide what is best for you and your’s.
One of the many great things about My Medic is that they have very specialized first aid kits (like their Range and Hunting First Aid Kits for example) for just about every occasion.
And, with a little swapping out here and their and some small tweaks, you’re bound to find something that will work perfectly for your needs.
No matter what you’re lifestyle entails, you should always prepare your kit with some serious trauma implements and treatments like big bandages and dressings, a few suture kits, and some methods to stop major bleeding.
Just because you’re not an adventure junkie doesn’t mean you’re not going to endure a major disaster or catastrophe. Prepare for the worst to hopefully come out the best.
Choosing a rock solid first aid kit is not cheap. If you’re not able to spend at least $100 on a basic kit to get started, you may want to consider starting by building out you’re own, slowly but surely, with good quality gear and supplies.
This will serve you better in the end, rather than throwing down $30 on a bag of junk.
Choosing the right first aid kit is one of the most important pieces of a solid bug out bag, or any survival bag for that matter.
You’ll want to tread the line on having everything that you feel you may need, while keeping in mind that you don’t want to way yourself down in the process.
Your decision when it comes to your FAK, as it is of utmost importance, can be one of the most time consuming and difficult tasks in putting together your bug out bag.
With that in mind, let’s turn over some of that responsibility to My Medic and get started on the search for The Best First Aid Kit for a Bug Out Bag in 2022!

The Top 3 Bug Out Bag First Aid Kits in 2022
The Medic
Carrying The Medic is like carrying a emergency room on your back. it has all supplies you need from a minor to a major incident. What is there to say, really? It's got it all!
This is not the kit for a solo or 2 to 3 person situation, really. However, if you have a large enough family with at least one capable member of that family that could haul this kit, it may prove beneficial.
By dividing up duties of “who’s gonna carry what”, this could easily be done and may make perfect sense. The more people, the more the chance of someone getting hurt, but also, more the backs to carry important supplies.
The Medic: First Aid Kit also doubles as the perfect primary house first aid kit for when bugging in or any old day.
The molded comfort back panel provides semi-rigid, custom-fitting support, for maximum performance; adjustable padded shoulder straps, with sternum cinch and adjustable waist belt, ensuring this pack will stay with you and balance the load even in the most rigorous conditions. Side and top straps allow you to compress or expand depending on the load. Multiple inner pockets to organize and separate contents.
The Medic: First Aid Kit is made to rugged military standards with lots of MOLLE straps to add on whatever you need.

“As a family we came together and started MyMedic with one objective in mind, to save lives. Our goal is to prepare everyone with equipment and training for the unexpected emergency. We discovered that most people are not prepared for emergencies. It’s an unfortunate reality. Life can be gone in an instant, but if you had the power to prevent a loss, you would take it in a heartbeat.”
— My Medic
If you have never experienced a traumatic event or losing someone to a traumatic event, it can be hard to put preparedness into perspective.
Even if you have never experienced a smaller event that turned out at most to just be a major inconvenience, but if you’d been prepared, life would have been a lot easier and still you may not be able to put preparedness into perspective.
So you have to trust in those of us who have experienced these types of things in life. Listening to and taking heed to stories of survival can be a simple but very important piece to your own survival story one day.
We hope here at Rugged Man that our list today will help you in your preparedness journey. Just simply making your way over to My Medic to take a look around may pack the knowledge you’re looking for.
Until next time, be well and take care of each other! And, remain Rugged!
