The best pair of pants I have ever owned, hands down, are my Vidda Pro Trousers by Fjallraven. They are the most versatile, comfortable, and utilitarian I have found on the market today.
Besides my work pants, which would also double as a good pair of hunting pants, I wear Fjallraven pants just about everywhere I go for just about everything I do. This includes hunting and the great outdoors.
Being active outdoors with every chance I get, I need pants to get me through all weather conditions and terrain.
I need something I can rely on to be durable against brush and debris that I will inevitably tromp through while out on a hunt or scouting out my next place to hunt.
Fjallraven is new to a lot of people. Even people who are familiar with this brand don’t always equate it to hunting. When a lot of folks hear the name Fjallraven, they think ‘outdoors’, but not necessarily ‘hunting’.

Though the Vidda Pro Trousers are amazing, I understand that they can’t do EVERYTHING. When it’s blistering cold, I either need a shell trouser to go over top of them or a REALLY great base layer underneath them, to keep myself warm on long hunts.
If I need to cross a body of water that goes above my Muck Boots, then I need a good set of waders or a waterproof shell trouser.

Are Fjallraven Trousers Worth It?
Just like with anything, you usually get what you pay for, and for what you get with Fjallraven for the price, they are absolutely worth every penny!
Made from G-1000 fabric, which is a tightly woven blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, all Fjallraven pants are extremely durable, flexible, provide UV protection, and are water/wind resistant.
Every pair of Fjallraven Pants come with their special Greenland Wax to maintain the integrity of the G-1000 fabric so it can do its job in battling the elements.
You should wax your pants after every wash.
Can You Wear Fjallraven Pants in the Winter?
Yes! It was wintery conditions in which Fjallraven was born! The letter G in G-1000 stands for Greenland, which is where the idea was originally crafted during a winter expedition in the 60’s. As you can imagine, that inspiration probably came swift during that expedition, as Greenland is brutally cold.
